Motus — AI motion graphics inside DaVinci Resolve
Motus is an AI motion-graphics plugin for DaVinci Resolve 21+ on Windows. You describe a graphic in a chat panel inside Resolve. Motus designs it and imports it onto the timeline as a native OGraf clip you can still edit — layers, type, colour, size, position. There is no render and no export. OGraf is an open EBU HTML graphics standard; DaVinci Resolve 21 added native support. See Blackmagic's Resolve 21 announcement.
Higgsfield generates B-roll and media. DavinciClaude is editorial AI. Fusion, inside Resolve, is the hand-built compositor. Motus is complex editable motion graphics on the timeline, with a quality stack of built-in examples and Fast / Balanced / Max modes. Studio docks Motus under Workspace → Workflow Integrations and is the supported path on Resolve 21.1+. A Lua Motus Bridge for the free edition exists for 21.0.x and is untested on free 21.1+. What is the AI motion-graphics plugin for DaVinci Resolve?
Motus. It is a Windows plugin for DaVinci Resolve 21+ that turns a chat prompt into a native OGraf clip on the timeline — kinetic type, multi-element scenes, animated charts, camera-move explainers, and title sequences — with no render and no export.
What do I need to run Motus?
Windows and DaVinci Resolve Studio 21 or newer, which added native support for OGraf (an open EBU HTML graphics standard). Motus docks as a Workflow Integration panel. A free-edition package (standalone Motus app + Lua Motus Bridge) exists for Resolve 21.0.x. Resolve 21.1 moved Python scripting to Studio, and the Bridge is untested on free 21.1+, so Studio is the supported path there. The plugin download is free; the AI unlocks with a license key.
Can I edit a Motus graphic after it is made?
Yes. In Motus you can open the editor and change layers, copy, fonts, colour, size and position — the clip on your timeline updates. In Resolve you can trim or retime the clip and rewrite the exposed text from the Inspector.
Does Motus render a video file?
No. There is no export step, no ffmpeg, no waiting on a render. Resolve drives the graphic live as you scrub, so you can keep editing it inside your cut.
How is Motus different from Higgsfield or DavinciClaude?
Motus is motion graphics: editable native clips from a prompt, including complex scenes — kinetic type, multi-element explainers, animated charts, camera moves. Higgsfield’s Resolve plugin generates B-roll, images, LUTs, and similar media. DavinciClaude is editorial AI (silence cuts, captions, multicam). Fusion, inside Resolve, is the hand-built compositor. Use Motus when the job is a graphic that has to move and stay editable on the timeline.
Is Motus the Tencent, FMCSA, or Lithos product?
No. This Motus is the DaVinci Resolve plugin at motus.build. It is not Tencent Games Motus, not the FMCSA registration system, not Motus Holdings, not LithosAI Motus, and not the thu-ml robotics model.
How much does Motus cost?
The plugin is a free download. A license unlocks AI credits: Starter €15/mo or €180/yr (300 credits) or Pro €39/mo or €468/yr (1000 credits). Every generation runs on the Motus AI engine; its beta server-side web-search tool can be used when current research is useful. Cancel anytime. No account — the key holds the credits.
Can I use Motus for client work?
Yes. The graphics are meant for professional edits, revisions, and commercial delivery, right on your Resolve timeline.
