Motus vs Fusion in DaVinci Resolve
Fusion is Resolve’s own compositor: you build the graphic node by node. Motus is AI motion graphics on the same NLE — complex scenes from a prompt, as native OGraf clips, with a quality stack behind them.
Is Motus a Fusion template pack?
No. Fusion templates are preset animations you drop on a title. Motus generates a new graphic from a prompt — including complex motion, kinetic type, and multi-element scenes — and imports it as a native OGraf clip you can still edit. Fusion itself is Resolve’s hand-built compositor; Motus is the AI path.
When should I use Fusion instead of Motus?
Use Fusion when you will build the composition yourself on the Fusion page. Use Motus when complex motion graphics — kinetic type, multi-element scenes, charts, camera moves — have to be prompted, dropped on the edit page, and tweaked without constructing a node graph.
Does Motus replace Fusion?
No. Fusion is the compositor already inside DaVinci Resolve. Motus sits on the edit page and generates the graphic, steered toward a catalog of high-quality built-in examples, with Fast / Balanced / Max modes. They can live in the same project: Motus for the prompted scene, Fusion when you need to construct the node graph by hand.
